In 2021 a woman was found, terribly injured, at the foot of Arthur’s seat in Edinburgh, Scotland. She later died, and a police investigation led to a trial. She was pushed by her husband.

Kashif Anwar, Fawziyah’s husband was convicted and received a minimum sentence of 20 years, although he intends to appeal the ruling.

In an exclusive interview with BBC Newsnight, Yasmin Javed, mother of Fawziyah Javed, reveals details of her daughter’s tragic murder.

Yasmin Javed believes one of the motives for her daughter’s death was so-called “honour” based – alongside, coercive control, and jealousy.
